Insurance Secret If You Get Hurt At A Business

It's called Medical Payments Benefits.  Ever heard of it? It works this way. If you get hurt at a store, business or any commercial property the owner most likely will have insurance. Sometimes, the reason you get hurt is their fault. If that is the case, then contact a competent injury attorney and discuss your case with them. Sometimes, it may be no one's fault or arguably yours. Hidden inside these commercial insurance policies is a provision called Medical Payment Benefits. This means you can submit your medical bills to that insurance company and they will pay them up to the policy limits of their medical benefits coverage. This can generally range from $500-$10,000. All you have to show is that you were hurt on their property.

If you get hurt, call the business and tell them what happened. Ask for the name, address and policy number of their liability insurance company. Call the insurance company and see if they have assigned an adjuster to the claim. If not, tell them you want to make a loss report. Once you make the loss report the claim will be assigned to an adjuster. If the adjuster doesn't call you in 5-7 days, call the insurance company and find out the name and contact information of the adjuster. Also make sure you ask them for the claim number as that is the way they find you in their system. Tell them you were hurt and ask for an Application for Medical Benefits. It should be only a few pages long. Fill out the information, attach copies of your medical bills along with a letter to the adjuster saying you want the medical bills processed under the medical payment benefits of the insurance policy.

You should receive a check in 30 days
